” Thank you to all our readers for your terrific response to the recent appeal in our Newsletter “
You have sent us enough to begin the construction of the house for the children in South India, and the foundations were started after a little ceremony at the beginning of May. Boring at the site found good water at 90 feet and we have completed the well down to 300 feet (see photos).
Our children are helping as ‘building labourers’ during their school summer holiday this month.
In Sri Lanka you have sent enough for us to construct SEVEN toilet blocks for the very poor fishermen. In August there will be seven very happy families, each with their first private loo/mini-bathroom. We hope others will benefit later.
Out on the East Coast of the Island Lal is further developing the fruit farm with £1,000 of your donated money. He is eagerly awaiting the next rains to build the sub-terranean water level which feeds his well. More news of his progress after our visit in August.
” Thanks to you, there will be many more smiling faces, this summer, in these two countries “
